Libraries Rock! (Summer Library Program)

Have you signed up for Manawa's Summer Library Program?
Let us show you a fun way to keep those reading skills sharp over the summer.
Our program runs from June 11 through August 3 and you can sign up at any time.
Sign up is quick, easy, and you set the pace.

Read to Me
Babies – Kindergarten
Parents or caregivers will read to a child and participate in simple but fun early literacy activities. Child will be able to pick out a book to keep.

Grades 1-6
This individually paced program offers youth different opportunities for reading and hands on activities to keep the summer slide from digging in. Something fun will be happening every day at the library!

7th grade and up
Stop in any time to sign up for activities and challenges.

Kick off! Beyond Belief with Magician Rick Allen (all ages)
June 12th at 2:30 p.m. at the Library Float in mid-air! Join us for a mind-blowing show of magic and comedy with Magician Rick Allen.

Flag Day Program (all ages)
June 14th at 12:15 p.m. at the Library

Science Day with Mr. J (all ages)
June 21st 10:00 a.m. at Manawa Elementary School
Science educator Mark Janssen (Mr. J.) will create excitement about science with his dynamic, highly motivational show that gets the audience involved in learning.

Rodeo Lunch Bunch (ages 8+)
June 26th at 12:15 p.m. at the Library
Meet and greet with the Queen! We’ll provide lunch for this event.

Randy’s Rocking Reading Show (all ages)
June 28th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Library
Lively, audience-participation filled, musical fun for the whole family featuring Randy Peterson. These engaging songs about the joy to be found at the library will have children feeling like reading rockstars.

Rockin’ Art Round Robin with Mary Tooley (all ages)
July 11th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Library
Let’s make art! Artist Mary Tooley will bring her suitcase of fun materials – you supply the creativity!

Magic Storyteller Chris McBrien (all ages)
July 16th, 10:00 a.m. at the Library
Chris McBrien delights audiences of all ages with his magic show, comedy, ventriloquism, and puppets. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Summer Reading Finale Picnic featuring the

Animals Rock! Celebrate your reading success with a meet & greet with animals from the NEW Zoo! Stick around for the annual summer picnic serving up your favorite picnic foods including ice cream.
