Junk Journal Flyer

Junk Journaling for Grown-ups

Junk Journaling is just what it sounds like. It’s making a record by gathering the “junk” that makes up day-to-day life. You are invited to start or continue a journal by attending our program at Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa on September 17, 2025 between 3 and 5 pm. Register to attend by calling 920-596-2252 or visiting the circulation desk during library hours. Registration is needed because space and materials are limited to 12 people.

If you have time to prepare, bring along items such as receipts; snack wrappers; old maps or postcards; the button that fell off your shirt; your artwork or sketches; doodles; or lists. Old magazines or catalogs are a good resource for photos or images to pair up with junk. Is your junk too junky? Probably not! However, it is fine to make a dream or inspirational journal instead of documenting your life. Request a book from this list for more journal design ideas.

The library will provide spiral ring notebooks; glue; double-sided tape; pens; pencils; old books; paper; pockets; and other junk embellishments. Participants are welcome to bring materials, snacks, or beverages for themselves. Scrapbookers are welcome to attend but should be aware that others will not be using the same level of precision.
